Web Scanning
Traditional solutions use linear array cameras, expensive optics, intense lighting, and mounting arrangements with large standoffs. A FireSync-developed solution offers several improvements, including the use of array cameras with less distortion, longer light source lifetimes, and a smaller overall footprint.
Traditional Solution
- Line scan camera requires large, costly optics
- Linear array geometry uses large standoff to map field of view onto many pixels
- Lighting requires 100% duty cycle, reducing lifetime
- Requires acquisition hardware with encoder support, PC computer, power supplies, cables and time to integrate, test, install and tweak
FireSync Solution
- FireSync-designed solution uses cost-effective CMOS imagers, windowed for high speed area scanning
- Imagers can be placed closer to the web surface, resulting in compact solution with less light
- Strobed light source with low duty cycles (< 10%) offers much longer lifetimes and less maintenance (runs cooler)
- Web libraries take care of image scaling and stitching
